Compliments from the coach, "He's good at winning orders" and self-diagnosis of 7.8 billion FA compensation players, "If you can't do it, you can't do anything, and if you do it well...”

Jang Jin-hyuk, who wore a KT Wiz uniform as an FA reward player, hit hard in the exhibition game.

Jang started as the seventh right fielder in the exhibition game of the 2025 KBO League held at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Sunday. He had two hits and three RBIs in four times at bat, including the come-from-behind final hit. KT won the game 9-4.메이저놀이터

Jang Jin-hyuk played in 99 games for Hanwha last year and recorded a batting average of 263 (76 hits in 289 at-bats) with nine home runs and 44 RBIs and an OPS of .747. In November last year, when Hanwha recruited Eom Sang-baek, an FA pitcher, on a four-year contract of up to 7.8 billion won, KT named Jang Jin-hyuk as Eom Sang-baek's FA compensation player.

KT coach Lee Kang-chul gave Jang Jin-hyuk a compliment before the game. "I think Jang Jin-hyuk is a good choice. Quickness and starting are really good. His power is better than I thought," Lee said. "He has all kinds of nominations. He has fast feet and good start ability. He knows how to play all three (outfield positions). He does everything wherever he puts it."

Lee then said, "Four outfielders have been chosen," and selected Jang as backup for the three outfield positions. The main players are Rojas, Bae Jeong-dae and Kim Min-hyuk.

Jang was grounded out to second base with two outs against LG starter Son Joo-young in the second inning. He hit a hit off Choi Chae-heung in the fifth inning, but was out due to stellar defense by second baseman Shin Min-jae.

Trailing 0-4, KT made a counterattack in the bottom of the sixth inning. Leadoff hitter Kim Sang-soo got on base with his team's first hit, and a timely hit by Rojas made up for one run with one out and the third base. After Moon Sang-chul got on base with a walk, Kim Min-hyuk hit a timely hit to chase 2-4. Chun Sung-ho got on base with a pitch and became a one-out full base chance, and shortstop Lee Young-bin followed Yoon Joon-hyuk's grounder 3-4 as he made a catch error.

Jang Jin-hyuk hit a left-handed pitcher against left-handed Kim Yoo-young. It was a hit that was slightly missed, but the course was good. Left fielder Park Kwan-woo tried to catch a diving catch, but failed to catch it, resulting in a two-run double. KT turned the game around 5-4. After that, KT added two more runs and ran away.

It was KT's attack in the bottom of the seventh inning, and Jang Jin-hyuk's at-bat with two outs and runners on the first and second bases. Pitcher Heo Jun-hyuk's wild pitch came out, and runners advanced to third and second bases, and Jang Jin-hyuk hit a line drive hit in front of right field to add an RBI.

Jang Jin-hyuk said after the game, "I was actually a little worried while moving the team, but I was able to focus on mine in the camp because he helped the coach and the players adapt well."

Lee selected Jang as the fourth outfielder. He joined the opening entry. Jang mentioned, "Actually, I have a desire to be a starting player, but I think I have to prepare well because I have to do well when I have a chance to be a starting player."

When he said, "I think that's my strength. I think I can say that I can do it to some extent in Gongsuju," Jang Jin-hyuk said. When asked what he is most confident about, he said, "It's always a dilemma, but if you can't do anything, you can't do anything, and if you're good, you're good at all three."

Jang Jin-hyuk expressed confidence in defense, saying, "For now, center field is the most comfortable. Because I backed up a lot, the outfielders in the left and right corners practiced a lot and played a lot of games." Regarding KT Wiz Park's adaptation and impression, he said, "I think I can concentrate a little well, and the grass is very good, and I think it's very good," and mentioned his new home stadium, "It looks small, but it's a little bigger than I thought."

He does not settle for the first-team entry, but he needs to win internal competition to become a main player. Jang Jin-hyuk said, "It's hard to express that you have to play a lot of games, so when you go out, you produce a good result and produce a good result. I will prepare as much as I can so that I can and try to catch it well when I have a chance," and added, "I think there are still things to supplement in the batting, and I think we need to continue to prepare well."
